Our latest adventure... Beneath the Banner

In March and April 2023, our new show, Beneath the Banner, hit the road.
The play weaves true stories, memories and anecdotes - told to us by former miners and their families -

with the story of Harry, Gail and Aubrey.

All performed by two actors, playing a host of characters from across the coalfields.

“And another thing I remember is the blue scars. Every coal miner had blue scars.”

Beneath the Banner shines a light on the many different experiences of those
who lived and worked in our pit towns and villages.
Coal Queens to canaries, pit nurses to pit head baths, courage to comedy,
these are their stories
.
